Nita was a grade school Home Economics teacher for over 62 years. She retired in 1978 to devote her time to taking care of her family. She shared her expertise in home economics with her grandchildren, children, friends and neighbors. She showed them how to cook and garden, and taught children to write, read and sing songs. Even in her elder years, Juanita was always keeping busy with different tasks around the house.
In the evenings, Nita would never miss new episodes of “Jeopardy” and “Wheel of Fortune.” She would spend hours on her crossword puzzles and still managed to find time for gardening, cooking, sewing and knitting. Juanita loved socializing with old friends and enjoyed making new friends. She loved to travel, and she carefully documented every trip. She had the most amazing memory until the very end.
Nita was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She formed special bonds with every member of her family and was loved by everyone. She would light up the room with her laughter and her energy was infectious and long-lasting. She was a very special woman who will be missed by all the many lives she touched.
