I am very sorry to hear about the passing of a Dear Friend! I met Jo in the mid 80's and struck up a Friendship that included Christmas Cards each year with a note about our Families, the occasional visit to her house where she was a Gracious Host with cookies and coffee.
Jo took me Huckleberry picking in Wa. and she schooled on How to pick, what to pick, and how to keep them! I remember going out one morning to pick and was back in less than an hour with my bucket full. She said were they single berries or in clumps on the bush. I said in clumps they are easier to pick! That was a mistake as I got told they were wild blueberries and they are not picked! It was a Great time that weekend and we talked about it often!

I am so saddened to learn of Jo's passing. She's been on my mind a lot over the last couple weeks.  I'd tried to call but got no answer a while ago and thought she may be in the bathroom.  When I got the disconnect on her phone today I was heartbroken. When I visited her in the hospital we had such a good visit.  I kissed her on the forehead and she held my hand. I knew that was our goodbye. I have loved her since we became neighbors in 1980. She made the best apple pies ever. She will always have a special place in my heart.
