It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jack Woodworth, aged 15, who left this world on the 7th of June, 2023 in Happy Valley, Oregon. Jack was born on the 19th of December, 2007 in Alexandria, Virginia.
Jack was a loving and beloved child, survived by their loving parents Tom and Liz Woodworth, dear brother, Henry Woodworth, grandparents Harry Woodworth, Joy Woodworth, Judith Woodworth and Ron Wolfson, Susanne Nichols, and Jana Nichols, aunts and uncles, Scott Woodworth, Curtis Woodworth, Will Nichols and Kimberlee Nichols, and Jeffrey and Emily Wheeler and cousins Duncan and Anna Russell, Madeline Nichols, Haddie Wheeler and Sofie Wheeler.
Jack was a sensitive individual, with a curiosity and love for knowledge and a particular fascination with geography, foreign cultures, and current events. Jack loved to travel and was thrilled to have been able to visit the cities of Naples and Rome with their Middle School. They were a fan of Broadway shows-- among their favorites were Hamilton, Hadestown and & Juliet. They loved the urban excitement of New York, San Francisco and Seattle and the landscapes and views of the Oregon Coast, Puget Sound and Manhattan. They were also an avid gamer, playing Minecraft, Terraria, and Super Mario Galaxy. Jack had a passion for music and was a talented musician, playing the piano, flute, ukulele, acoustic guitar, and electric guitar. Jack loved exploring the entire spectrum of music from Miles Davis and Dave Brubeck to David Bowie and Radiohead.
Jack was an advocate for diversity, inclusion and authentic living.
Jack attended Happy Valley Middle School and Clackamas Middle College, where they were known for their kindness, love for learning, and musical talents.
Though Jack's time with us was brief, their impact on the world around them was profound, and they will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing them.
May Jack's soul rest in eternal peace.
