John Hood Poole

John Hood Poole, age 78, passed away at his home in Sacramento, California on Saturday, April 15th, 2023. He was born to Stanley and Dora Poole on February 22nd, 1945, in Vancouver, Washington. From Vancouver, John moved with his family to Spokane, Washington, Baker, Oregon, Eureka, California, Atascadero/Paso Robles, California, Vacaville, California, where he graduated from Vacaville High in 1963.

John attended Columbia Christian College where he studied mathematics and electronics. He served honorably in the Army for two years where he spent time in Vietnam. He worked for Mobil Chemical company in Woodland, California. He married Coline Simmons on August 7, 1970 and together they had two daughters. He later married Betty McCorkle on April 8, 1995. John loved working on old cars and owned his own wrecking yard. Later in life he moved to Sacramento, California where he lived until he passed away.

John was preceded in death by his dad Stanley, mom Dora, sister Kathy, and brother Morgan. He is survived by his wife Betty, daughters Tiffany and Anna, brother Shannon, sister Jenni, and numerous grandchildren, nephews, nieces, great nephews, great nieces, and friends.
