John Kuzmanich passed away on August 25th, 2022 in Portland, Oregon. John was born December 10th, 1941 to Ivan and Ivanica Kuzmanich on the island of Solta in the village Grohote, Croatia.
He and his twin brother were born the youngest out of five children. He was born during WWII and the Germans occupied the island. His family fled the island to Africa via the island of Vis. They returned after the war and began to rebuild. Life was tough on the island, where John learned to work hard at an early age working the fields and tending the goats. He moved to the United States in 1956 and settled in Oregon with his Uncle Visco and Aunt Joe. He would go on to graduate from Grant High School and later at Oregon State University where he received a Degree in Engineering. Later he met Sue, the absolute love of his life. They married and had three children together: John Jr., Kevin, and Ryan.
John always worked very hard to provide the kind of life he wanted for his family. Before becoming an engineer, he painted houses for a living. His engineering career took him into the transportation industry where he started a trucking company. When John wasn't at the office, he enjoyed traveling the world with his wife Sue, playing golf, and having laughs with friends. He very much enjoyed his second home in Las Vegas, Nevada, where he made many new friends and memories. He was a great man and will not be forgotten by any of us. For if you met him he definitely touched your heart.
