Jessie Lee Currie

She will be remembered for her great sense of humor and the immense amount of love that she shared with her husband, Charles.

Jessie moved to Portland in the 40’s and worked in the shipyards. Along with her husband, Jessie had been very active in the American Legion, Post #14 in Vancouver. She also enthusiastically supported her children’s pursuits from Cub Scouts den mother to Linfield College Parents Club involvement. After raising her children, she worked for Emanuel Hospital.

Jessie was preceded in death by her husband, Charles, and siblings, Darnice and Darnell Crockett. She is survived by her children, Carolyn (Marvin) Edgett , Charles Currie, Jr., Donald (Valerie) Currie and niece, Margie Crockett.

At Jessie’s request, there will be no funeral service, but a gathering is scheduled for 12PM, February, 17, 2014 at Caldwell’s, Hennessey, Goetsch & McGee Funeral Home. 20 NE 14th Ave. Portland, Oregon. The family requests that remembrances be made to the American Lung Association at www.lung.org
