Jerry Edward Young, passed away at home on June 19, 2013 in Portland, Oregon. Jerry was born in Central Arizona on August 17, 1933 to Edward and Rotha Young. Jerry graduated from Newberg High School and then went on to join the US Army serving 35 years, where he earned the rank of Lt. Colonel before retiring. He later worked for the Portland Police Department before retiring after 26 years. Jerry spent most of his time working out of the East Precinct. In his spare time, Jerry loved to golf.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, and is survived by wife, Carol Harrington of Portland, Oregon, sons, Mark, Robert, Paul , Joel, and brother David Young of Gresham, Oregon, and sister Linda of Flagstaff Az.
The family will have a private service at Willamette National Cemetery.
