Janicelee Bettine Rude

Janice was born to Fred and June Rau in Walker Minnesota July 26, 1942. The oldest of 5 children, Fred Jr., Bobby, Mary and Susie. She met Harlen Rude in her late teenage years in a small town of Bottineau, North Dakota. Harlen courted Janice for a few years, and during a leave from the Army, Harlen proposed and they married February 10, 1962 and moved west to Portland, Oregon.

The couple welcomed 3 boys, Harlen Jr, Terry and Daniel. Her devotion to her family was unwavering. With unconditional love and a focus on faith, Janice taught how even through the most difficult circumstances, love and grace could always endure.

Janice glowed when her family was together. She always said she was happiest when all her boys were home. It was evident that on her last day, when she knew she was surrounded by all her boys, she was at peace to say goodbye.

Janice is preceded in death by her parents Fred and June, and her brothers Fred Jr. and Bobby. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Harlen Sr. Her sons Harlen Jr, Terry and Daniel and 2 grandchildren Nehemiah and Elijah.

Private memorial services will be held at Skyline Memorial Gardens Funeral home in Portland on July 26, 2021.
