Janet Lee died at Cedar Crest Alzheimer's Special Care Center December 29, 2011 of complications resulting from Pick Disease a progressive Dementia. She was born in Portland, Oregon, daughter of Warren S. Griffin and Naomi M. Griffin and
Brother Ronald and Sister Veronica. After graduation from Grant High School with honors in Portland, she completed two years at Portland State University. Janet received a degree in Electronic Computer Programming Institute and was involved in numerous business seminars/courses.
Janet worked at NW Natural Gas Company for 39 years where she coordinated desktop computer training, managed the acquisition of computer hardware and software. She acted as a Total Quality Service Facilitator and was a Senior System
analyst.
She has been involved in many professional and community organization - such as: American Society for Training and Development, Northwest Natural Diversity Network, Northwest Natural Women's Network as a Board member, two terms
Chairperson of Northwest Natural Women's Golf League, Northwest Natural Tennis League, Northwest Natural Veterans Committee, National Association of Female Executives, Board member of Northwest Resource Federal Credit Union,
Supervisory Committee Chairperson of NRFCU, Doernbecher Children's Hospital Fundraiser, East Clackamas Country Republican Women and Junior Achievement Advisor.
She has been very involved in many positions in teaching and as a consultant with youth particularly Children's primary, youth seminary as a spiritual living teacher in the women's Relief Society of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
She is survived by her husband Edwin and an 11 year old son named Dexter. Services will be held Friday January 6, 2012 at 10:30 am in Skyline Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 4101 N. W Skyline Blvd, Portland, Oregon. Interment will follow in the cemetery.
