Dear Grandpa,

It's comforting to know that you are no longer in pain and your spirit is free.

Thank you for all the laughter and love you so freely gave to us as children.  And now as an adult, I realize how important it is to always carry my joy with me. 
I never remember you not smiling. I never remember you not laughing. I never remember you not showing your love to our family. This is a tremendous legacy that more people should have.

As a child you were always bigger than life to me, it was not until I was an adult did I realize that your love, smile and personality made your small stature huge to me. I only hope that I received some of your energy and that you can see how much! I see your smile every time my mom smiles. I hear your laughter every time she laughs. Your joy and love lives on now in all of us. We were blessed to have you in our lives. Until we meet again,

Dear Grandpa,
It has been very difficult to describe what you have meant to me and to my life. I am thankful that I was able to have you as part of my life.  I am also thankful that you were able to meet and spend time with my husband and two children. Our lives will never be the same without you.
When I think of you, there is a song that comes to mind. Although, I am not able to be present to sing this hymn to you, I felt that it would be appropriate that it be read as a testament to you in my absence.
Pause:
Where there is hatred let me bring your love. 
Where there is injury, your pardon, Lord, and where there's doubt, true faith in you.
Oh, Master grant that I may never seek so much to be consoled as to console; to be understood as to understand; to be loved as to love with all my soul.
Make me a channel of your peace, where there's despair in life, let me bring hope
Where there is darkness, only light and where there's sadness, ever joy.
Make me a channel of your peace; it is in pardoning that we are pardoned
In giving to all men that we receive and in dying that we're born to eternal life.

When someone you love passes it is always hard. I always remember is grandpa asking me about stuff and saying "yeah yeah" you know getting really ingrossed with what I had to say and the laughing when I got to the end. I also remember how crazy he use to drive in Boring going around those corners making us grandkids scream in fear and delight. He was always there to listen or give advice and to make a gloomy day brighter. He was always there to take us fishing and to scold me for getting into the blackberries when him and grandma had the house in Boring. The last I remember is getting stuck in the truck up at his place and him taking the Jeep and driving through the snow like a madman while I followed behind trying to keep up and him laughing the whole way. I love you grandpa. Where ever you are either heaven or any other paradise that there is after this life we love you and miss you and know that you are making all of the people were you at laugh and laugh and laugh.

 His mother always said...... He was a tender sole....., that was her Bucky Boy...    To  know  was to love him........This was found  true to all that meet him,  Short in stacher, but a Giant Loveing  Heart,  shared so much of himself with grace and kindness.  What a wonderfull out look on Life he had..... his laugh with the biggest Smile and a occaional Joke.  I think he and my mother were the family jokers  always brighting someone day  this to will be missed ...but the man himself will continue to live in all of us... I Loved him and he touched my  life  with deep respect and love.  Un tell we meet again ....Uncle Buck  XOXOXOXO

Dad always asked me "Do blondes have more fun?" I am still trying to find out. You will always be in my heart. He taught me to work hard, to enjoy life and to love to garden.

My sweet Uncle Buck! 
What a treasure and blessing you have been in my life. Your huge laugh and giant smile delighted me and I hold those memories close to my heart. When you hugged us, we knew we'd been hugged from your heart with every ounce of love you had; and that was a lot!
As a Christian man, you embodied the gospel in your integrity, your humility, your selfless generosity, and your never ending sense of fairness. 
I know you never thought of yourself as 'perfect', but to me, you were as close as a man could get!
Your love and your example resonate through my life and I praise God for blessing our family with you.
Life's work is done and your trials are over. Rest in peace Uncle Buck. I will miss you, but I am comforted knowing when Jesus comes again, it is His smiling face you will see, and you will hear Him say "Well done, good and faithful servant...enter into the joy of your Lord." (Matthew 25:21)

The thing I remember most about Uncle Buck is his smile and his laugh. I can close my eyes and hear him even now. I am sure they can hear him all over heaven.
