James C. Garrett, 80, of Portland, Oregon, passed away August 30, 2021. He was born in Grants, New Mexico on May 12, 1941. He served in the United States Air Force for almost 8 years. During this time he met and married Phyllis Lane on June 27, 1965 in Los Banos, CA. James worked as a custodian at David Douglas High School. They had 2 children and 2 grandchildren. He had a passion for life, his kids, and family.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Garrett; daughter, Sherry Elliott; son, James Garrett Jr.; and grandchildren: Adyson Elliott and Slade Garrett, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A memorial service will be held at 1pm on Thursday, September 23rd at Lincoln Memorial Park & Funeral Home, followed by a committal at Willamette National Cemetery.
