James Donald DeBord, 84, of Vancouver, Washington, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 10, 2017. Born in Oakley, Idaho to James and Ellen (Nickerson) DeBord he lived most of his life in Portland, Oregon.
James was a dedicated and devoted husband, father, grandfather and provider. He served in the Navy during the Korean War and was employed by HB Fuller Company for 41 years. He loved coaching his sons baseball teams, traveling with family, fishing, hunting and golfing. He especially loved being in Hawai’i where he met the love of his life, Rosebella Leialoha, and always enjoyed spending time in the islands with extended family.
James is survived by four loving children, eldest son Marcel and his wife Bev, his daughters Donna and Carol, and son James Tod as well as 16 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Mary Lou Wilson, brother Harry Fisher and his wife Pam, sister in law Corring Bepler and brother-in-law Bert Tarayao and his wife Jill, as well as many loving nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will gather for funeral services at Skyline Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 4101 NW Skyline Blvd., Portland, OR, on Saturday, April 22nd at 11am. James will be laid to rest in Skyline Memorial Gardens in the garden of Meditation.
