Mrs. Hue Tran Le was a wonderful woman that was loved, is missed, and will always be cherished. Her Dharma name is Dieu Khai. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She left this world peacefully in her sleep on August 24, 2021, at age 90, and surrounded by family.
Hue was born to Mr. Tran Van Chi and Mrs. Truong Thi Trinh on January 27, 1931, in Ben Tre, Viet Nam, and the fourth of nine daughters. After graduating from Gia Long high school; Hue followed her passion for children and being in a learning environment. She attended Su Pham University and became a teacher, then vice-principal for Chi Hoa Elementary school. After she and her family moved to Portland, Oregon in 1975, she worked as a medical claims specialist for Aetna Insurance Company until retirement in 1994. She married her devoted and loving husband Le Thanh Liem in 1954. Together they had 3 children: Le Tran Dung (Douglas), Le thi Lan-Huong (Cynthia), and Le thi Lan-Chi (Patricia).
Hue was a charismatic and compassionate person and made many lifelong friends. Hue enjoyed spending time in the garden nurturing her roses, being with her family and friends, and traveling. She thoroughly enjoyed cooking for her family. Her delicious “cha gio” was amazing and a favorite with all her children and grandchildren. Artistically and personally she loved poetry and was a talented storyteller. She adored and spoiled her grandchildren and enjoyed watching them grow into young adults.
