Harvey G. Welker passed away on October 6, 2014 in Portland, Oregon. He was born on June 6, 1921 in Idaho Falls, Idaho to parents Harris and Phoebe Welker, one of 6 children. Harvey attended Benson High School, and joined the US Navy in 1942, just a few months prior to the attack on Pearl Harbor.
Harvey was honorably discharged in 1945.
In 1944 Harvey married Betty Ann (Bales) and they had two children. They were married for 64 years until Betty’s passing in 2008. Harvey was a strong,
capable, and loving father and husband. Though he worked very hard, he was always family oriented, and took a week long vacation with them every year.

Harvey was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Ann, and his daughter Janet. He is survived by his daughter Sandra (Cliff) Burton, and son-in law George Collier; 10 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and other beloved family members throughout Oregon,
Washington, Utah , Vermont and Idaho. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday October 15, 2014 at 10am at the Mt. Tabor Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. A committal service will follow at Willamette National Cemetery at 1:30pm, with military honors. Arrangements under the care of Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home.
