Condolences and love to the entire McQueen family.

Will always remember Dad's strange, favorite, sandwich. He loved Peanut Butter and Mayo sandwiches. Always would want one if I ever stayed home sick from school.

Great memories camping with mom and dad. We would camp on spring breaks. Big Eddy, Fort Steven's, Trillium Lake, and a gusty trip at Nehalem Bay State Park-90 mile an hour winds, I am sure!! Dad was the best Grandpa to our two sons.

Dad began his love of soccer by following his youngest around. He and Mom would be at any game that was close, with air horn in hand!! He then focused on Manchester United! So glad we shared the love of soccer!

When we were young and at our cabin near Mt. Hood, Dad would draw pictures in the bottom of his chocolate pudding bowl. We would wait for him to finish his masterpiece, then we would all Ohh and Awe! Love you Pops!

Is the cherry there?  Coming home from the childhood Mt Hod cabin there is a special spot in a bend in Hwy 26.  In this one spot you could see the snow on the entire top half of the mountain.  It always looked like a ice cream split.  Dad would always look in the mirror and ask us kids if the Giant got the cherry before we would see it. 

We would all whip around to look out the back window  to see.  The cherry was always (just) gone.  Silly kids in a red station wagon.

My sincere condolences to the McQueen family.  My thoughts, love, and prayers are with each of you today and in the days ahead. May the peace of God be with each of you during this time of sorrow.

One of my favorite memories as a child was breakfast at Grandma & Grandpas.  Grandpa would either be at the helm of his trusty waffle iron or we would have Cottage cheese with  peaches and pepper, which I still enjoy to this day.  

The best part however was reading the funny papers with Grandpa.  He would read them aloud to us, and then flip the paper around so we could see the comics. He would do his best to explain some of the more tongue and cheek jokes in comics like Wizard of Id, or Hagar the horrible. 

However the best part was certainly figuring out who done it in Slylock the Fox.  Looking back I think Grandpa already knew the answer but he'd put the paper down in front of us so we could look at the comic and we would could figure it out together.
