Gilbert Martin Tolzman

Gilbert "GT" Tolzman , age 89 of Portland, OR passed away on Sunday, October, 3, 2021. Gilbert was born January 29, 1932 in Renville, MN to Martin and Esther Tolzman. He joined his sister, Lorraine (Bliss).

Gilbert married Annette Schleper on December 31, 1955 and they moved “out west” to Portland, OR where they raised their 4 children. They were married 43 years before Annette passed away.

During his working years, Gilbert was a Body & Fender Repairman and retired from Kuni Cadillac. His retirement passion became wood carvings that are beautiful in their detail and realism. Gilbert’s spirit lives on in these carvings that family members cherish.

Gilbert is survived by his children Diane Tolzman (Paul Drake), Tim Tolzman (Nina), Jay Tolzman (Rhonda Roeszler) and Lee Tolzman (Pam). His grandchildren Jordan Oathes (Shauna Coverdale), Kyle Tolzman (Carlyn), Cory Tolzman (Jessica), Hayden Tolzman, Sydney Tolzman and Amanda Roeszler. His great grandchildren Jordan Oathes, Brooklyn Oathes, Devin Coverdale, Casen Tolzman, Kinley Tolzman, Kennady Tolzman and Jaxston Parish, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Celebration of Life followed by lunch will be held Sunday, November 7, 2021 at 11:30 at Bethany Public House located at 4840 NW Bethany Blvd, Portland, OR.
