Gerald Edward Moats

Gerald Edward Moats, 79, of Portland Oregon, passed away on March 26, 2015. He was born in Portland on March 9, 1936 to parents Glenn and Marjorie Moats. He graduated from Franklin High School in 1954 and married Marlys Hay in 1956. They had 3 children, Steven, Kenneth and Danette. In 1969, Gerald married Judith Bosley and they had 2 children, Jason and Jeffrey. Gerald met Donna Denny and they married in 1985. He was a sports fan, rooting for both the Portland Trailblazers and the OSU Beavers. In his leisure time he also enjoyed fishing and tinkering with his model train sets. He was a man of God, finding comfort and guidance in his Lutheran faith. Gerald will be remembered for his enormous capacity for work and getting things done; he had a wonderful sense of humor and loved a good laugh.

Gerald was preceded in death by his siblings: Glenn Jr., Arthur, MaryAnn and Janice; and his grandson: Andrew. He is survived by his loving wife, Donna; his sons: Steven, Kenneth, Jason and Jeff; daughter: Danette Jewell; four step-children; twelve grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and numerous step-grandchildren.
