The arrival of Georgia Susan Leigh brought joy to her parents Gordon and Eleanor. She was the love of their life.
In 1974 her mother married Frank O. Williams, Jr. Susan was very close to Frank and always thought of him as her father.
Susan was loved by family and friends and returned that love her entire life. She was affectionately known to many in her younger years as Georgie, Georgia, Georgie Sue aka Dordy Poo. Through her adult years she was known to many friends and co-workers as Susan, GSL, Aunt Susan aka snazzy Aunt Susan, GP aka Georgia Peaches and Martha. These nick names have a very special meaning to all of us who knew her well.
She attended Rose City Park Elementary School and belonged to Rose City Park United Methodist Church where she played in the bell choir. As a child and through high school she was involved in Girl Scouts and later was an advisor for a Medical Explorer Troop. Susan attended Madison High School where she was a member of the “Four Fabulous Frosh”, the Madison High School freshman swim team. She graduated in 1971. After some work and life experience she obtained her BA, Communications Degree in 1992 from Marylhurst University.
Susan met many life long friends through her various employers: OPS Blue Shield, Georgia Pacific, Providence Health System, PacifiCare Insurance, and Kaiser Permanente Health System. Susan loved to read, swim, bead, and spend time with friends but most of all loved her poodles, Jacque and Gigi. Susan enjoyed the symphony, plays, and movies which she attended whenever possible. The Oregon Coast and the shores of San Diego were two of her favorite places to visit and spend holidays and vacation time with her family and friends.
Her loved ones would like to thank Kaiser Home Health, Palliative Care, and Hospice. Susan had wonderful care givers who were devoted to her; we are blessed for the loving care they showed her and are forever grateful.
Susan is survived by many devoted friends and generations of cousins, Burt Rooke, Lisa, Lili, and Josie Grimm; Dana Gale, Justin Bode, Lyn, Kristen & Alex Gale; Kathy Persinger, Eric, Nick, and Sean Nelson; Christie, Maren, and Jeff Stilson. Step brother - Wes Williams, Step sisters - Theda Williams and Lorina Johnson
