George “Jerry” Edward Schubert, born January 7th, 1938 in North Bend, Indiana, died March 11th, 2022 in Beaverton, Oregon. Jerry is survived by his brother Robert Schubert, his children Peter Schubert and Melinda Hinman, and his granddaughters Tina Schubert and Talia Hinman.
Jerry grew up in southern California, married Bernice “Bunny” Schubert in 1957, moved to Oregon in 1969 and divorced in 1976. He wed Leslie Sweitzer in 1978, lived in the West Slope area of Portland for 40 years, became a widower in 2005, and made a home with Joanne Van Dyke during his last years. He worked his entire professional career with “Ma Bell” (aka AT&T), starting as a lineman and growing to a senior technical sales consultant. Jerry enjoyed cruises, coffee, and nothing more than the company of good people.
His family asks that donations in his memory be made to the charity of the giver’s choice.
