Freda Adelia Tremper was born in Portland to Ada and Cloe Ferris. She was the second of four children. She graduated from Washington High School. In 1938, she married Ernest Lester Tremper. During World War II, Freda worked at Iron Firemen. She also worked for Sears in their drapery department and in the fabric department at Benjamin Franklin in Multnomah. After selling their home in Hillsdale in 1960, Ernest and Freda bought the Parkrose Mobile City and she was the manager/bookkeeper. A few years later, they bought the Sailor Jack Motel in Lincoln City where she was also the manager/bookkeeper. During the years, the couple owned three boats and were members of Tyee Yacht Club. In 1980, they started wintering in Arizona with a motorhome and eventually bought a winter home in Sun City, Arizona. Freda went on 26 cruises. Freda lived in Seminole Estates, then at Courtyard Village Raleigh Hills and lastly at Fromont Home Care. She enjoyed golf, bridge and pinnacle. Freda was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church. Her husband Ernest preceded her in death in 1994.
She is survived by her son Gary (Susan) Tremper, her four grandchildren, Wendy Tremper, Robert (Sybil) Tremper, Kristin (Thomas) Bialobok and Shannon (Gary) Caster and thirteen great grandchildren and her sister Norene Church.
Memorial Services will be at St. Luke Lutheran Church in the fall.
