I just recently saw Franks obituary.
I have known him through the years as a dear friend to my Mom and Dad.
I have many memories of Frank and Edith and there children from the Columbia River, camping at Suttle lake.
He was a stand up person. He was there for my Mom and Dad after Dad had his Strokes.
He remodeled there bathroom and kitchen after some one else took advantage of them.
I will always remember that he saved me from drowning when I was a little girl.
I am sending my condolences to Denise, Shelly and Frank.

I had the honor of living next to Frank and Edith for about 20 years. From the minute we closed on the house—before I even met him—he looked after it for the two months prior to us moving in. A few years later, we decided to add a gas fireplace in a wall where no fireplace had existed. Frank helped at every stage. Soon after the construction was complete, I pulled into our driveway after work to find the exterior siding of the fireplace bump-out completely painted, trim and all. He’d found the right paint in our garage and just did it for us. Frank also taught me how to mix and pour concrete one summer when we needed to add a step by our backyard patio. But my favorite memory of Frank has to be the day when he called us over the second we pulled into our driveway after a weeklong vacation. We hadn’t even gone inside when Frank came out telling an animated story about how he’d seen a dog on our (porch) roof. “A dog!?” “Yes! A dog!!!” “Well, what kind of dog!?” “Well it was REX!” Yes, our beloved Rex (RIP, 2010-2022) had been upstairs when a wind evidently blew in the top panel of our easy-clean window, creating a ramp of sorts. Rex helped himself to the lofty perch o’er the street. Well as you know by now, Frank had our house key, so he went on in and called for Rex, who came in for Frank! I am comforted to know that he is reunited with the love of his life, Edith. And looking after Rex! 

Frank has been missed on Everett St since the day he left. He was such a dear friend and a bright spot on many of my days.  He was always ready to saddle up for a long conversation and ready to jump in on any project we were working on. He and Edith shared many a meal and laugh since I moved into the neighborhood in 1999.  We always felt safe letting our kids roam free as he kept an eye on them from his big picture window. A big thank you to his family for sharing him with us for so many years. We will forever treasure the many memories we shared with Frank, the official “Mayor of Everett Street”. Much love and condolences for your loss, Kristina, Greg and Alivia. 

Frank was like a second father to me - one who knew things my first father never learned - like how to handle tools, solve problems of the household variety and keep a smile on your face while experiencing frustration. Frank helped me lay a kitchen floor and remodel a bathroom - two things that I never felt competent to tackle on my own. He was a patient teacher and a steadfast friend.

Frank's presence on Everett Street was magnetic. I met and got to know more neighbors by joining his sidewalk conversations than I ever did on my own. 

I will forever cherish the times we spent together.
