As a youth, Ed lived in the Laurelhurst District of SE Portland. He attended All Saints and Grant High School. He married his high school sweetheart, Helen Lorraine Ransom, with whom he spent 44 years, prior to her death in 1994. He worked as a logging business owner and truck driver. He was a race car owner and driver for 60 years, managed rock bands, was a homebuilder- remodeler and sold Real Estate. In retirement, Ed married Elaine Lyon. Prior to Elaine’s death, they lived in Keizer, Oregon and Lehigh Acres, Florida.
Ed is survived by his children, Michael Kane of Keizer; Katherine Mason of Salem; and Sharon Hamberger of Milwaukie, 9 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, Brother George Kane of Portland and Sister Teresa Blankenship of Spokane.
