Born to parents at the parsonage in Dayton, Oregon. Her father retired from ministry and the family moved to live with relatives in Portland. She graduated from Jefferson High School and Willamette University. She taught school in Rainier, Athena and after her sons were born she substitute taught at Portland Public High Schools. Edna loved the outdoors and spent a season with her school-aged sons in the Tillamook Forest at a smoke lookout. She instilled her love of the outdoors in her children and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles and survived by her sons and grandchildren. The family asks that remembrances be made to Loaves and Fishes and/or the Oregon State Library Talking Book and Braille Services.
