Earl was on shore leave with the Merchant Marines when he met and married Eleanor in 1950 in sunny California after a 3 week whirlwind romance. They had four children, Nancy, Bruce, Keith and Kirk. When their children were younger they were involved with the Indian Guides, Little League, Boy Scouts, and helping out with a paper route. Earl and Eleanor were both avid bowlers and spent a lot of time with friends and teammates at Jantzen Beach Lanes. They were both active in the church, their earlier worship was with First Baptist Church of St. John’s and later with Creekside Baptist Church in Scappoose. They also enjoyed the fellowship of their Young at Hearts group. The two things that remained a constant was their love of family and their faith. Earl and Eleanor recently celebrated 70 years of marriage, they were truly loved by their family.
Earl was proceeded in death by his parents and his sister Margaret. Eleanor was proceeded in death by her parents and her sisters Edna & Blanche. They are survived by 4 generations of unconditional love, children Nancy Munson (Tim) of Scappoose, OR. Bruce Giggers (Phyllis) of Kirbyville, MO., Keith Giggers (Carolyn) of Portland, OR., and Kirk Giggers (Sherrie) of Warren,OR. Grandchildren, Lynn Clark, Harmony Giggers, Dana Math (Moose), Erin Hooper, Kalena Loomis (Kyle), Randi Crosse (Marc), Heather Hamelton (Derek), Laurel Johnson (Brian), Anthony Munson, Sandra Tuttle, Thomas Gregory Jr. (Tonya). God found them further deserving so he additionally gifted them 24 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. Earl and Eleanor were also blessed with a large loving extended family.
