

Diana Faye Jaggers was born October 31, 1949 in Huron, South Dakota to Clifford and Nita (Brooks) Landon. She moved to Portland as a young person and was a graduate of David Douglas High School. She worked in the kitchen for Reynolds School District for 31 years, 29 years of that time working at Alder Elementary School. During summers, she would take jobs at places like the 88 Cent Store, 99 Cent Store, and Dollar Tree. She also worked a few summers alongside her daughter Tonia at Alder Elementary serving breakfast and lunch to local neighborhood kids. She also worked at Portland Community College.
At the time of her passing, Diana was single, having been married twice: to Edward E. Burgess, with whom she had two daughters, Cammy S. Burgess, born in March 1969, and Tonia L. Burgess, born in July 1971. Later in life, she also married her high school sweetheart, James O. Jaggers.
Diana loved collecting Elvis memorabilia, snow globes, earrings, TY Beanie Babies, and McDonald’s Kid’s Meal Toys. When her grandchildren were young she would use the old baby food jars & make glass Christmas trees that light up. She also made yarn wreaths, hats, scarfs, and earrings.
Places that she enjoyed traveling to included Graceland, the Grand Ole Opry, Dollywood, and many other places in that part of the U.S. She loved the beach, and Oregon’s Lincoln City beach was her favorite one. She had never been able to visit Hawaii but had always dreamed about it. From her travels, she had a large collection of souvenir spoons. Over the years, Diana also participated in various bowling leagues.
She was preceded in death by her mother Nita Turner, father Clifford Landon, sister-in-law Sharon Landon, best friend and sister Sue Cox, half-brother Harold Landon, and both husbands.
She will be remembered by her daughters, Cammy Burgess (age 54) of Gresham, OR and Tonia Burgess (age 51) of Portland, OR; grandchildren Justin White (age 29) of Gresham and Ashley White (age 27) of Portland, and great-grandchildren Juliana (8 years old) and Za’marei (7 months). She is also survived by a brother, George Landon (age 71) of Coos, Bay, OR, uncle Richard Brooks (age 75) of Portland, half-brother Charles Landon (age 58) of Enumclaw, WA, half-sister Lori Schiro (age 57) of Port Orchard, WA, half-brother Mike Landon, and half-brother Bill Landon.
The family would be grateful for donations in Diana’s name to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospitals, charities that benefit disabled veterans, or a local animal shelter.
Services were held. Diana was laid to rest in Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery in Portland.
