

Dencil grew up in Portland, Oregon, where he graduated from Cleveland High School. It was during these formative years that he met Pamela, the love of his life. The two married on September 11, 1978, and shared a devoted partnership for 46 years, building a life filled with family and shared values.
A skilled mechanic and technician, Dencil dedicated many years of his career to Portland Compressor before retiring in 2021. He took great pride in his work and was known for his dedication and expertise. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Dencil was an active member of Oak Grove United Methodist Church, where he found community and purpose.
In his personal life, Dencil’s passions included cycling and collecting model trains. However, nothing brought him greater joy than spending time with his beloved grandchildren. His family was the cornerstone of his life; he will be remembered for the unwavering love and care he showed them and for the happiness he brought to those around him.
Dencil is survived by his wife Pamela Daum; his daughter Jennifer Daum; his son Jason Daum and daughter-in-law Stephanie Daum; and his treasured grandchildren Miles Daum, Mackenzie Daum, and Conner Daum. He is also survived by his sisters Cheryl Sharp, Anna Daum, and Diana Daum.
Dencil’s legacy is one of love, kindness, and a life well-lived. His memory will forever remain a source of comfort to all who knew him.
