A lot of years have passed since I seen y’all. Debbie and you were so much fun when we were there. I remember going to Seaside with y’all and we had such a wonderful time. I believe y’all were dating. I knew you were the one for her, because the love was so real between you two. I talked to her several times through the tears and we would just pick up right where we left off. My regret is I kept thinking one day I would see her again. My heart is full for you and yours. I know when Jerry passed (her uncle) how difficult it was for me. I was forty and had 3 kids still at home. I know that pain. I pray for peace and comfort. I remember the love you two shared when y’all were in high school. We had such a wonderful time when we visited Oregon back in 1978. Debbie was the life of the party. We laughed and laughed, she was full of love and laughter. I know the last time we were there was in 1986, to many years have passed. I truly love her and I thought about y’all through the years. Dale I pray for comfort and peace for you and yours. I know your pain and I have to tell you that I have been there as you know. I remember when I had surgery in Portland, we were on the way back and a random snow story came in and there was no way we were making it home. It took us 4 hours to go 20 miles. Aunt Debbie called us and without and hesitation she invited us over to stay until the snow passed. She was always so selfless in times of need. - Nicole

There are so many memories to share. My favorite ones were the rare nights talks over a glass of wine - you were like a second mom to me. Someone I could really confide in with no judgement. Debbie and Dale headed up the famous life don't suck club! Int he last couple of years I had the honor of joining them on some club trips to Napa. Before and after passed away my first thought of her would be her contagious laugh. I'm proud to have known someone like her. She loved her husband fiercely and dedicated her life on a daily basis to friends and family. I have to say Debbie talking about Dennis the Menace always smoking pot across the street was beyond funny. I will carry that torch on into the future on her behalf. Debbie is an example of how to live a life that leaves thousands of beautiful moments and memories in its wake. - Josiah

Unfortunately, I think all the memories I have with Debbie have to do with me, Jenny, Kristie, Alena, and Joyce doing something that may be we shouldn't be doing! I remember her being SO involved in every aspect of Jenny's life! She was our biggest cheerleader in the basketball stands at Tigard High School. What fun we had in grade school. Debbie, Laurie Rogers, and I. Always fighting over boys, but was had so many wonderful memories. We would all hangout at Arbor Lodge Park. Debbie was the most amazing host. She always made us feel so welcome and so at home. She had such a kind, loving heart and I remember being so floored by her generosity when we came over for Christmas. She lived such a full, beautiful life, making memories with those she cared about most. Napa trips, holidays, wine tasting, and the Life Don't Suck Club will never be the same without her. Debbie will be extremely missed by everyone who met her.

One of the best memories that we shared was back in 2013. This was the first time we met her. It was Valentine's Day and we were at a basketball tournament and in between games the team went to go surprise her. I didn't know kids could become friends with parents. When I met Lindsay, I was introduced to the Jorgensens, you guys, and the Duncan's. End of Story...meaning the times we shared were so memorable they will never be forgotten. Napa trips, local trips, etc... Wine brought us together and there are too many trips to list. So sorry for your loss- what a special person she was. Laughter come to mind when thinking of our times together - sports, Napa, travel and times on the back deck - special times to always remember and it all just brings a smile to your face. We are so happy and fortunate to have Debbie in our lives. We had just moved to Portland, Dale & Debbie lived right by my sister, and we all became fast friends. We shared many camping and boating trips and days on the Willamette  with the kids my mother-in-law Mary  would make liver and onions, when she visited and Debbie was ALL IN for that, Mary, Richard, Debbie and Greg would eat that, and I'd cook for the rest of us! 

She was such a fierce momma bear, protective of her girls and not afraid to say so. I wanted to be more like her!!! Dale and Richard would have the kids jumping off bridges and rocks, rope swings and playing on the sea-doos and Debbie would be yelling at them to stop, so many laughs! She and Dale have been an important part of our lives, an important part of our son Damen's up bringing. Her laugh, her humor, her SPIRIT will be missed!

One of the funniest moments with Debbie was a day she had a meeting at work and didn't realize until after meeting the whole in-seam to her pants were ripped. We laughed over hours and days. She's going to be deeply missed. Co-worker Ruth Tayla

Was so great Debbie participated & help plan Chief Joseph reunions. I remember in 7th grade, I scanned the competition during "field day" and knew I had the softball throw in the bag! Then, from out of nowhere, Debbie, who, although she was not unathletic, didn't seem to me to be a particular threat! But there she was with  the longest throw of all the girls in class. I continue to be impressed today with all the things Debbie could do well. 

Since Debbie has passed away many fellow Chief Joseph classmates have expressed their sympathy for your family-and Miss Mary Green (Peterson) we were her first students, and she still loves and remembers us. Among class of 73' kids I heard from Mike Mehrens, Heidi Overstreet Sullivan, Jeff Sherman, Michelle Bowers, Laurie Rogers, Valerie Bailey, Mark Kelly, Kevin Bonnin, Robin Nestlin, Duane Woods & Arlene Maruitz Goshorn. When I remember Debbie I think of our awesome trip to both Napa Valley & Hawaii. She was always the ultimate hostess. In Hawaii we shared their timeshare and Debbie insisted we have the master bedroom (always thinking of others first). I will forever remember all my memories with my sister Debbie. We had so much fun as kids and teenagers and embraced our lives as we married and had children. I always treasured, and was a little jealous, of her successful marriage because it was something that I never had like she did. What her and Dale had was amazing. I will  remember all the family domino games, and of course all the late night sister and mom talks. I am so sorry for the loss of Debbie.I am her cousin from Texas.I have so many good memories of Debbie,Brenda and Chuck coming to Texas to visit their family here.We would  all gather at Granny Martins house ,we went camping at the lake,and just hung out together. It was so sad to see them have to go back home.Being friends on FB with Deb,l could see she was full of life,loved her husband with all her heart as well as her daughters and grandson.l know she's going to be greatly missed by all her knew her.She was taken way too soon.Her family in Texas are heartbroken as well.We will keep you all in our thoughts and prayers.
