David was the youngest out of four boys. He graduated from Oregon State University with a Bachelor of Science in Manufacturing Engineering and became an outside salesman for McGuire Bearing Company. He became the sales manager and later vice president of sales. He was a vital part in the success of the company and landed large accounts. After 40 plus years at McGuire Bearing, he retired at the end of 2018.
He loved to fish, tailgate at Oregon State football games, and spend time with his family and friends. He enjoyed the family road trips to Oregon State games, McGuire Bearing golfing trips, and hiking Multnomah Falls in his later years. He coached many years in his son’s sports and grandchildren's sports events.
David is survived by wife Yan McGuire, son and daughter-in-law Michael and Lilly McGuire, stepson Bailey, Vivi Xie, grandchildren Ashlyn, Alex, Austin, Mason, Royce, and brothers, Tim and Steve McGuire. He was preceded in death by his parents, Don and Jane McGuire, sister-in-law Michelle McGuire, brother Mike McGuire, and nephew Ian McGuire.
He was an amazing leader and mentor to those he worked with, always looking out for his employees as much as the customer. He served as deacon for many years at Evergreen Presbyterian in Beaverton. He loved his Lord and Saviour and served faithfully. Dave was an amazing dad, wonderful husband, kindhearted son, and noble friend.
David will be laid to rest in a private family ceremony at Finley Sunset Hills Memorial Park, 6801 SW Sunset Hwy, Portland, OR 97225 in the Garden of Resurrection. A memorial service will be held later in October.
