Daniel “Deever” Ramsey passed away with his family by his side on March 24, 2016 at the age of 68.
Deever was born to Oscar D. Ramsey, Jr. and Mary Ellen (Walter) Ramsey on September 1, 1947 in Portland, and lived his entire life in the city. He attended Oregon State School for the Blind and worked on an assembly line during the Vietnam War putting together care packages for servicemen abroad. He liked old TV shows and watching the Blazers on television, and enjoyed the Oregon outdoors – camping, clamming, and visiting the coast. Every Friday he would go with his mother for his favorite fish and chips.
Deever was preceded in death by his father Oscar in 1996.
He will be missed by his mother, Mary Ramsey of Portland, sister Dana Lowe of Ellicott City, Maryland, and by numerous relatives and friends.
Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations to Oregon Public Broadcasting or a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
