Cliff met and shortly after married Hazel Anderson, the love of his life, February 13, 1960, in Lebanon, Oregon. They lived in Alsea and Shedd before settling in Newberg, Oregon. It was there they raised their family.
He worked for Builtwell Furniture Factory in Portland during the 70's. He spent many years working at Dura-Craft in Newberg before retiring in 1992, when he and Hazel moved to Newport, Oregon. He went back to work shortly thereafter at Sawyer's Landing & Marina. He worked at Sawyer's until 1999, when he and his brother-in-law Dallas Roles purchased the Fuel Dock in the Newport Marina. In 2008, he sold the fuel dock and FINALLY retired for good!
Cliff was an avid hunter and fisherman. He could be found every elk season with his brothers and friends out in the woods camping for a week. During spring and summer, you could sometimes find him with the family camping, fishing in the creek, and eating burnt marshmallows from the grandkids.
