Charles Marion Williams, 98, of Portland, Ore., died Aug. 4, 2022. Chuck was born to Charles and Nadine Williams. Chuck graduated from Benson High School and joined the Army Air Corps. He married the love of his life, Ruth Morasch in 1944. He served with the 13th Air Force as a B-25 pilot based out of Palawan, Philippines. He flew 19 combat missions. Chuck served in the occupation of Japan until January, 1946. What they wanted: "He returned to Portland, Ore., where he joined the Air Force Reserve, serving as a pilot with the 304th Air Rescue Squadron, among other assignments. He retired as a Command Pilot and Colonel in 1976. Chuck also worked as a carpenter and ran his own Amway business. He became a Christian in 1961 and was active in ministry at Gateway Church for many years. Chuck cared about people and always had a heart to help those in need and encourage them to turn to Jesus as their Savior.
Chuck was preceded in death by wife, Ruth; son, Charles; and grandson, Jeffrey. He is survived by four children, Rodger, Terri, Richard and Cherri Warnke; as well as seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
