Charles "Chuck" W. Washburn, Jr., born on June 14, 1951, in Irving, Texas, passed away on December 6, 2023, in Portland, Oregon. Chuck, a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Chuck proudly served in the Navy from 1974 to 1978. Following his military service, he pursued a career in personnel at the Port of Portland, transitioned to IT recruitment at a start-up, and eventually founded Computer Basics in Beaverton, OR. His entrepreneurial spirit and dedication led him through a successful career in IT until his retirement.
Chuck's passions for travel, cooking, reading, and ham radio defined his leisure time. He embraced the beauty of the Pacific Northwest, which he had called home since 1978. Chuck's supportive and thoughtful nature endeared him to many, leaving a lasting impact on those around him.
He is survived by his loving wife, Patrice Jacob, his son Andrew Washburn, daughter-in-law, Molly Washburn, his brother Malcolm Washburn and sister-in-law Carol Washburn, his brother Calvin Washburn, his father Charles Washburn, and a community of friends and family who cherished him.
A ceremony to celebrate Chuck's life will be held at Ross Hollywood Chapel on June 14, 2024, at 10:30 am, followed by a committal ceremony for family and close friends at Willamette National Cemetery at 1 pm on the same day.
Chuck's memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him.
