Candice Ann Johnson, age 76, of Hillsboro, Oregon, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 1, 2024. Born in West Linn, Oregon, she was the beloved daughter of Gerard L. Johnson and Gladys M. Johnson (Pelkey). Candice was a cherished sister to Ron S. Johnson and Vern G. Johnson.
Candice led a life full of love, laughter, and compassion, marked by her outgoing spirit and boundless enthusiasm for life. She worked as an accountant and bookkeeper for a property developer, bringing her meticulous nature and dedication to every project. Known for her warm personality, Candice brightened the lives of everyone around her.
A true Oregonian at heart, she was an ardent fan of the Oregon Ducks, cheering them on with her signature spirit. Her passions extended far beyond sports, with a deep love for travel and exploration. Hawaii was a favorite destination, where she made cherished memories with friends and family, including unforgettable trips with her beloved granddaughter, Mackenzie. Together, they explored the beauty of the islands, building a bond that Mackenzie will carry forever in her heart. Candice also had a fondness for Sunriver, frequently visiting its peaceful landscapes and finding joy in nature.
Her love of gardening was evident in the vibrant flowers and plants that adorned her large backyard—a place where she found peace and fulfillment. This was also a sanctuary for her loyal dog, Niki, who was a constant companion, sharing in her daily joys.
Candice had an adventurous palate, always excited to try new dishes and explore Portland’s culinary scene. More than anything, she was a family-centered woman whose love and generosity left a lasting mark. She adored her children, John and Lisa Hanley, who carry forward her legacy of kindness and compassion.
Candice will be missed tremendously by her family and friends, all of whom feel the deep void her absence leaves. She leaves behind a legacy of love, joy, and a life beautifully lived.
