Bruce was born in Portland, Oregon to Maurice and Vernice Giddings Junkin.He lived his younger years in Milwaukie enjoying Boy Scouting ,camping, fishing, and hunting with his parents and three brothers. In 1969 he graduated from Rex Putnam High School where he was involved in the Ham Radio Club. He had already obtained an Amateur Radio License in 1965 from OMSI.
Bruce served his country by joining the US Army in 1971 serving in the Panama Canal Zone, South America. After the Army he served for one year in the National Guard.
He received a diploma from the US Army Signal School in Radio Repair. He furthered his education by obtaining degrees in Drafting Technology and Electronics from Clackamas Community College after being honorably discharged from the National Guard.
Bruce retired from Bonneville Power Administration after 10 years as a communications engineering Technician.
Operating his ham radio was his greatest enjoyment but The Lord Jesus was his first love. He leaves behind his brother David of Portland, Oregon and Robert of Colorado Springs, Colorado . He was preceded in death by his brother Jerry.
A celebration of life will be held at 11am, Saturday , August 23 , 2014 , at Central Church of the Nazarene, 9715 SE Powell Blvd, Portland, Or. 97266
