Bonnie Lee McHale, mother to Danielle Hall Triplett and Jane Elizabeth Averin, son-in-law Fredrik Averin, and grandmother to Savannah Pearl Triplett, passed away on Friday, March 7, 2025 in the afternoon. Her final moments were spent peacefully in her home in Portland, Oregon, surrounded by family. Bonnie found much joy and comfort in spending time in nature. Watching flowers begin to bloom, hearing birds singing happily & tending to her bonsai collection all brought her great comfort during her last weeks.
Bonnie was born in San Jose, California, and grew up with a big family, lots of sunshine, singing, and laughter. Even though she lived in the Pacific Northwest for 30 years, she was always a California girl at heart. Known for her cheerful personality, sense of humor, and caring nature, Bonnie will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Bonnie’s family asks that she be remembered for the love and light she brought to others in life not the sadness of her passing.
Bonnie’s life is being honored with a memorial service on Saturday, April 12 at 1:00 at Zeller Chapel of the Roses. Anyone with fond memories, stories, or keepsakes is invited to attend and share.
