Bonnie was born Bonnie Laurel Chappell in Oregon City, Oregon. She was the third child born to Alice and Andrew Chappell on Aug. 28, 1925. She graduated from Woodland Grade School and Jefferson High School. She then studied music for three years at the University of Oregon. She played the piano beautifully and even sang on a local radio station a few times.
Bonnie's first marriage was to Robert Judd Wilhelmi in 1951 with whom she had two children, Curt and Candi. Her second marriage was to Claude Gratreak until 1983.
She is survived by her son, Curt Wilhelmi; daughter, Candi Thompson; and four grandsons, Luke and Jake Wilhelmi, and Zachary and Brandon Thompson.
While Bonnie's grandsons were growing up she enjoyed rooting them on at their soccer, basketball, football and kickball games. She also attended many plays and musicals they performed in.
Bonnie loved to meet with her Pinochle friends once a month to play cards, eat and socialize. She lived at Powell Vista Manor for many years. During that time she had many dear friends with whom she enjoyed playing different card games, playing bingo, taking trips to casinos and just talking.
Bonnie has requested a direct burial with no services.
