for the past 20 years, in the Alameda neighborhood, attending Alameda elementary, Beaumont Middle,
and Grant High School, for 2 years.
He was a proud graduate of LaSalle Catholic College Preparatory High School in Milwaukie, Oregon in
2016; and Portland Community College in 2019. He was enrolled at Portland State University, majoring in
criminology and criminal justice.
Bjorn had kindness and compassion for everyone he met. He was known for playing baseball and soccer.
Bjorn had many passions and dreams. He loved sports (especially major league baseball all-star players),
dogs (he volunteered for the pug rescue), sports cars (particularly design; he sketched and reviewed
endlessly), drawing (all sorts of things), scuba diving (with good friends), travel (particularly to visit family
or water parks), chocolate, and hot tubs. He was proud to have learned German, to play the guitar, and
to drive his best buddy, Cody, to and from work.
Bjorn lived a life of patience, courage, and determination. He endured much in his 23 years, but never
stopped trying to find his way, realize his dreams, and reach his aspirations.
Bjorn is survived by his parents, Dr. Diane Scott and Dr. Peter Burke; his brother, Sven Anders Burke; his
paternal grandmother, Susanne Zike; his adoring German short-hair pointer, Liesl; and too many aunts,
uncles, cousins, and special friends to list. He was blessed with wonderful teachers, coaches, therapists,
neighbors, and friends. Bjorn found something to love in every person and he, in turn, was loved.
A celebration of life service will be held at Door of Hope Northeast, 831 NE Fremont St., Portland,

The Wellness Group, 3549 NE 65th Avenue, Portland, Oregon 97213, would be tremendously appreciated by the entire family.
