Arthur G. Albin Jr., 82, North Plains, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 3rd from natural causes. Arthur was born in San Antonio, TX and moved to Corvallis, OR when he was 11. He graduated from Corvallis High School. Arthur was a person who always worked really hard. After graduating with a PhD in Physical Oceanography from Oregon State University in 1968, he became a research scientist in physics, chemistry and oceanography and later a project engineer. He worked tirelessly on his 40 acre farm near North Plains. He had a passion for ham radio, weather, solar energy and especially inventing. He also loved to facet a variety of stones including his wife's engagement ring and was a volunteer faceting instructor for the Rice Museum. He is survived by wife, Inga Albin and daughters, Monica Harmon and Aly Benson and grandchildren, Ty and Cole Harmon, Evan and Elle Benson. A memorial will be held in the Spring to celebrate his life.
