Anne Marie House Hannigan was born in VanBuren, Mo, 7/15/1928, and came to Oregon during WWII on a troop train. She attended Jefferson HS and lived in Vanport while her parents worked in the shipyards. After the war, Anne married Navy vet Daniel Hannigan and reared four daughters, Sherry, Carol, Sue (Liz), and Peggy, first in the Parkrose area, then in Gresham. From time to time, she took a few short term jobs including working in her father Evan's and husband Dan's commercial painting business. When the last child started school, she went to work for brand new Barlow HS in the counseling office in late summer 1968. Eventually she became the Principal's secretary and stayed in that position until she retired September 1, 1990. Since then she spent time with her extensive family and many friends traveling, gardening, going on cruises, listening to music, watching old movies and dining out. Among her many special friends are Ralph Bankston and Lee Raybourn. She passed away 9/8/17 in Gresham. Left behind are daughters and sons-in-law Sherry Nichols & Dan, Carol Ryan & Terry, Sue (Liz) Johnson & Doug, and Peggy Carrington & John. Grandchildren are Sandi Huffman, Jenni Ryan, Noelle Landauer, Shannon Wolfe, Nick Johnson, and Justin Johnson and spouses. In addition, through daughters' marriages, are grandchildren Jeff Nichols, Andrea Nichols, Cathy Eaton, John Carrington Jr and Beth Hale. There are 18 great grandchildren in the extended family and 3 great great grandchildren. Celebration of Life is 9/16 at 1 pm at the Monarch Hotel. In lieu of flowers, please donate to her favorite charity, St Jude's.
