Anna was born on December 2, 1946 in Los Angeles, California and passed away in Vancouver, Washington on July 18, 2024.
She was the oldest child of Donald and Helen Graab Ericson. Anna was named after Donald’s mother Anna Marie Peterson. Anna had two sisters, Donna Diane and Sally Anne. Her sister Sally survives her.
Anna married John McElroy in 1968 and they had daughter Andrea in 1972 and son, Christopher in 1974. They divorced in 1975. Anna married Paul Sullivan in December 1975 and they had daughter Denise in 1977 and daughter Pamela in 1979. Anna and Paul divorced in 1986.
The family roots were in Glendale, California. Anna attended Herbert Hoover High School and pursued a career in education where she excelled and was a blessing to many. Her career took her to becoming a Principal . Earning her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Education from San Diego State University allowed Anna to break many “glass ceilings” as a woman educator.
Passionate about family and educating those that needed assistance. A talented musician of several instruments. She loved camping, scrapbooking, reading and movies and gardens. An icon at Disneyland, first attending a month after the park opened in 1955 and very often after that until her health prohibited the trip.
Anna loved all of the kids and spouses and those terrific seven grandchildren, Justin, Christian, Kaila, Nico, Kierstin, Thomas and Juliana.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Zeller Chapel of the Roses, 2107 NE Broadway St. Portland, Oregon 97232 at 11:00 a.m.
