Anna Belle worked at the co-op in Litchfield, Minnesota candling eggs before marriage; after which, her home and family were her prime and only concern.
Anna Belle bore two children. George, of Portland, Oregon; and one estranged female.
Anna Belle had 4 grandchildren, an unknown number of great grandchildren, and at least one great, great grandson.
Anna Belle had nephews and nieces too many to track, scattered from Stone Mountain, Georgia, Pennsylvania, upper Midwest, and California; as well as here in Portland, Oregon.
Anna Belle moved from Minnesota, with her family, to Oregon in the spring of 1950. The family settled in Myrtle Point where her children attended and graduated from elementary school. Her husband, George, worked as a logger, then a law enforcement officer. She moved to Cottage Grove and Kent, Washington with her husband. After her husband passed she came to Portland, Oregon for a better living situation and to rejoin with her family.
AnnaBelle, known to many as Skip, or Skippy, spent that part of her life which I am most familiar with, serving her Lord and looking forward to that day when she would finally be able to go and be with Jesus. On April 12, 2012, at the age of 96 years, she finally managed to do just that, she just slipped away without any struggle. The attendant who was in the room assisting her did not even realize she was no longer present until she failed to respond.
Such an easy . . . and peaceful . . . exit.
AnnaBelle was one who was never seen to be less than happy. She managed to keep her “bright and sweet” persona activated no matter what life could throw at her.
Life did sent many trials and less than pleasant experiences her way; but, she never forgot to praise God for her place on this Earth, knowing that when her work was done, she would be rewarded.
I do know she could certainly roast Beef or a Turkey. Her Sauer Kraut; potato salad, fresh fried or baked potatoes were second to no one other person.
Bye . . . gonna miss ya . . .
