Amelia was born and raised in Beaverton, OR. She married Delbert L. Smith in 1939 in Beaverton, and they were together until his passing in 2007. She was a lifelong Catholic, attending church in Portland and Beaverton. Amelia worked for many years in the cafeteria of Providence Hospital.
She enjoyed baking, sewing, knitting, and gardening. She often traveled, hunted, and camped throughout Oregon with Delbert, and was an avid baseball fan, simply for the love of the game.
She is survived by her son Gerald Smith; grandchildren Jerry (Zandy) Smith, Connie (Bob) Mitchell, Angel Smith, Dave Chapman, and Todd (Kathy) Chapman; 4 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 30, 2012 at 2pm at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, Portland, with Committal to follow at 3pm at Lincoln Memorial Park. A Visitation will be held Thursday, November 29 from 10am until 4:30pm at the funeral home.
