The heavens are a little brighter as our dear mother, Adoline Ceciliani left this earth to join her husband Charlie, brother John, sister Anita, mother Emily and many dear friends and relatives. Adoline Emily Seifert was born in Portland, Oregon to Emily Hulda and John Augusta Seifert on January 17, 1921. She attended Binsmeed School and graduated from Girls Polytechnic. ‘Addie’ was extremely talented and creative. As a seamstress, she was a national winner for her tailoring skills. As a member of the Dogwood Garden Club, she won numerous trophies while local banks and libraries benefited from weekly-donated arrangements from her year-round blooming gardens. She was also an amazing cook, baker and canner, and provided meals for her family and many others who would stop by and always be welcome. She and Charlie tended a huge garden. Adoline loved music, singing, playing guitar. With all she accomplished, her main dedication in life was to her family.
She met her husband, Charles Carl Ceciliani at Flanagan’s Restaurant in the early 1940’s, married and raised 4 children together. They successfully built and ran Division Street Corral “D-Street” , a dance hall with one of the largest dance floors in the country (1948-1979). While Charlie built and did all of the maintenance and upkeep on the hall, Adoline contracted the bands and did the bookkeeping. They both hired the help and worked every weekend at the dances. Some of the special dances included live music by Johnny Cash, Bob Wills, Hank Thompson, Hank Williams, Lefty Frizzell, Ray Price, Buck Owens, Heck Harper, Bobbie Vinton, Bobby Darin, Roy Orbison, Paul Revere and the Raiders, The Kingsmen, and The Liverpool 5, along with many other bands. Charlie passed away in 1995.
Adoline is survived by her 4 children; Arthur, Joanna (Doug Beckman), Carl and Jeannie (twins); Grandchildren Heidi Berryman (Noah) and Brandon Marx (Jamey), Lisa Page (Allan) and John Brooks . Her Great Grandchildren are Morgan & Chase Berryman, and Dylan & Adoline Marx. “Mom, we all Love you Very Much, and we’ll miss you every day. “Thanks For The Memories” which will always be cherished.
We would like to thank all the care giving agencies, independent caregivers & Washington County Hospice, who helped make sure Mom had a great quality of life. Funeral will be held at Lincoln Memorial, 11am on January 18th.
