Addie was born on August 7, 1919 in Lincoln, Missouri to Lola Matilda and John Oscar Love.
After graduating from high school, Addie became employed by a local bank. Addie met and later married Herbert Jacob Davis. They relocated to Portland, Oregon after Herbert was discharged from the U.S. Army. They opened a restaurant for a short time and then Addie became employed as a bookkeeper at Perry's Pharmacy in Milwaukie, Oregon. Addie continued to work at Perry's into her 70's.
Addie was very involved with the Moreland Presbyterian Church and volunteered for church activities for more than four decades. Addie was also involved with other church related social groups.
Addie was preceded in death by her daughter and only child, Donna Dotson, and her husband Herbert. Addie is survived by her only grandchild, Jacob Dotson.
At Addie's request, no memorial service will be offered. Donations in Addie's name can be made to the Moreland Presbyterian Church, 1814 SE Bybee Blvd., Portland, OR 97202.
Addie's final resting place is next to her husband, Herbert, and her daughter, Donna, in the Parkview section of Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery in Portland, OR.
Special thanks to her grandson, Jacob, for serving as her full-time caregiver for nearly three years to keep Addie in her home as long as possible. Special thanks to Barbara Haberlach for her assistance in Addie's care over the past many months. Special thanks is also extended to Ivy Court Senior Living and Seasons Hospice for making Addie's final days comfortable for her.
