Doting father, caring friend, consummate showman, fierce competitor. Lover of all things Irish. Virgil was a bright light who loved his family and friends with all that he was. Virgil lived from his heart and filled the world with humor. Although presenting a tough exterior at times, those who were blessed to know Virgil’s character knew him for his kindness and infectious spirit. He never wanted to let you down. Whether he would admit it or not, he was always willing to learn from his mistakes.
Virgil was an athletic machine and an inspiring teammate. He devoted countless hours to younger classmates, teaching them mental grit and helping them hone their skills to develop as athletes. Virgil played little league baseball, achieved his brown belt in Karate, played football (number 67), participated in track and field and was a determined wrestler.
He was a dreamer, not only for himself, but for his children, which he gloated about constantly and absolutely cherished. Virgil lived his life with boldness, endless optimism, fierce conviction, and limitless potential. He was deeply committed to living with purpose.
