Timothy J. "Tim" Hutchins

Scarborough, ME - Timothy James Hutchins, 71, of Portland, Maine, passed away peacefully June 27, 2019 at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House. Born in Rumford, Maine to Harlan and Gertrude Hutchins, Tim lived most of his life in Bethel and the greater Portland area.

A graduate of Gould Academy in 1966, Tim joined the Coast Guard straight out of high school and served his country from 1966-1971. After serving Tim married the love of his life, Marilyn, and they stayed together through thick and thin for 49 years.

Tim enjoyed being outdoors and working with his hands. A master electrician for 33 years, Tim also enjoyed working in the garden, camping and woodworking. He also served his community as a volunteer firefighter in North Windham, ME and on the Chamber of Commerce in Bethel.

Tim is survived by his wife Marilyn, his daughters Julie Hutchins and Katherine Kimball, and his son James Hutchins. He is also survived by his brother Jeff, his three grandchildren Gabrielle, Alissa and Sebastian, and his great-granddaughter Willow.

No services will be held per Tim’s request. He will have a burial at sea with full military honors.
