He was born on March 7, 1956, in South Gardiner, the son of Cameron and Theresa (Tracy) Boynton. In 1974, he graduated from Gardiner High School.
Tim worked for Associated Grocers of Maine for thirty-seven years as a warehouseman and union shop steward. He took a leave-of-absence from this position to work for the International Brotherhood of Teamsters Local 340 as a full-time special project coordinator on the Kerry/Edwards Presidential campaign. After Associated Grocers closed, he worked as a Peer Support Worker aiding his former co-workers with their future endeavors. His most recent employment was toll collector for the Maine Turnpike Authority.
Tim liked to play chess and was ranked class D in the US Chess Federation. He liked motorcycling and going to the annual bike rallies in Laconia NH. Tim enjoyed photography, his pets, nature, hiking, bird watching, hang gliding, canoeing, and cross-country skiing. He was proud of his years of volunteer work with Maine Audubon as a nature guide for local school field trips. He also enjoyed vacation cruises with his wife.
He is survived by his wife Linda (Hurley) Boynton; son Nathaniel Kliphan, and his wife Hannah of Manchester; brother Merrill Boynton, and his partner Violet Goodwin of Pittston; brother Stanley Boynton, and his wife Martina of Winthrop; several nieces and nephews and many good friends.
Out of respect for him and COVID concerns, a private burial will be held this spring at Mount Hope Cemetery in Lewiston.
