A kind and gentle soul, a talented craftsman, avid football and racing fan, went to heaven too soon. The gentle man everyone knew by his trademark smirk grin and warm heart was only 55. Scott lived a long, hard life battling his addiction with alcohol. His heart and his talents were big, but the struggle and fight was even bigger. He tried with all his might to manage the roller coaster ride of the disease but a rollercoaster ride it was for Scott along with everyone that loved and cared for him through the years.
As people share thoughts of Scott, the comments they share are many including kind, caring, that trademark smirk grin, his love of family and just a genuinely good guy. Scott loved his family, football, race cars, working construction and most importantly, hearing updates of his son Jake. Scott enjoyed playing the game of cribbage particularly Russian cribbage – don’t look it up – he made it up and that is why he won so much!. He was partial to Mom’s cooking, cheese pizzas, his ole blue truck, his big white dog and his home on Hiram Hill. Scott would fondly recall his times at Monmouth Fair with his ox team Amos & Andy.
The family again would like to extend a sincere thank you to the staff, support programs and volunteers at Huston Commons that created a welcoming place and care for Scott. He really loved it there and we could clearly see how much they loved “Scotty” too. The day before he passed he created a cool Valentine art piece that the staff framed and graciously presented to his Mom the next day.
Scott leaves behind his son Jacob Robinson of Nottingham NH, mother Marlene Robinson of South Hiram, sister Stacy McConkey and husband Brett of Barnstead, GA, sister Tammy Sawyer and husband Dave of Falmouth, brother Jay Robinson and wife Brenda of Limerick, several nieces and nephews and many great friends/acquaintances through his journey. He was predeceased by his father Gordon Robinson and son Justin Robinson.
A small ceremony is being planned on his birthday April 5, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Huston Commons, 72 Bishop Street, Portland in Scott’s memory.
A private graveside will take place early summer where Scott will be laid to rest with his father at Stanley Cemetery in South Hiram.
In Scott’s caring spirit and heart, donations in his memory are welcomed for Preble Street. Their services were tremendous for Scott and so many others. Preble Street, Development Dept, 38 Preble Street, Portland Maine 04101. Thank you.
