South Portland – Scott A. McDonald, 55, of McArthur Circle East, died on Thursday June 28th at the Maine Medical Center from complications as a result of a motorcycle accident. He was born in Hartford CT., the son of Frederick and Marita Rockwell McDonald. Scott attended Portland Schools and was a longtime employee of the
W H Shurtleff Company in South Portland. He was an avid Harley Davidson, Ham Radio and gun enthusiast. He loved playing the harmonica. As a young man he lived the Hobo life style traveling across the country by “ jumping freight trains” . The family said everyone that met him loved him.
Scott was predeceased by his wife Bernice in 2010.
He is survived by his sister, Margo Bale and her husband Richard of Buxton and 3 brothers, Paul McDonald and his wife Carol of Buxton, Dennis McDonald and his wife Gail of Waterboro and David McDonald of Hollis.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a time of visitation on Tuesday July 3, 2012 from 7-9 PM at Jones, Rich & Hutchins Funeral Home, 199 Woodford Street, Portland. A funeral service will be held on Thursday July 5, 2012 at 10 AM at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family encourages those who have motorcycles to be a part of the procession to the cemetery after the funeral service, it’s the way he would have wanted it.
