Sarah Ruth Saucier, lover of life, went "HOME" to heaven on September 6, 2022 at the age of 42. She was born in Toledo, Ohio, an avid sports fan and Special Olympian. She won both gold and silver medals in Bocce representing Team Delaware during the 1995 Special Olympics World Games in New Haven, CT. She participated in swimming, bocce, track and field, bowling, basketball, soccer, snow shoeing and cross country skiing.
She went to many college, H.S. soccer and basketball games with her Pepere Legs, sitting in the #1 fan cheering section. She kept the refs honest, calling them out when they made a bad call. Sarah loved the Red Sox, Packers, Patriots and the Buccaneers because of her Brady! Her language became very colorful when her teams were losing.
At the age of 20, a cold virus attacked her heart. Not expected to live 5 years she defied those odds and lived 22 more! She worked at Hannaford in Scarborough, attended Strive, St John Valley Associates and Creative Works. She wanted more independence this past year so she moved to Westbrook, staffed through Residential Resources, with her roommate, Michelle.
Her most important job in life was being Tantie to her nephews, Eli, Isaac, and niece, Amaya. She loved every minute with them. She loved hanging out with her sister and brother-in-law, Brandon, and whenever he, or any male friend in her life, was around she paid no attention to us girls.
Her sister Amy said it best "There was no one more excited to see you. She always made you feel like you were the most important person in the world!"
She will be missed by her parents, Dean and Vera Saucier; her sister, Amy and Brandon Delano; nephews, Eli and Isaac; niece, Amaya; her precious "Pepere Legs," Labbe; and loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. She was predeceased by her Pepere and Memere, Wilmer (Bernice) Saucier, Memere Legs (Rinette) Labbe; her great-grandparents; a few special cousins and friends; and best friend, Leslie.
Sing and dance sweet Sarah and shine your light upon us. You will forever be in our heart.
In Lieu of flowers we ask that you pay it forward with an act of kindness in her honor. Donations can be made to: the Fort Kent Booster Club, 84 Pleasant St., Fort Kent, ME 04743, or The Kristy Williams Memorial Foundation at kristywilliams.org. Kristy is the daughter of Gail Dumond Williams from Fort Kent who courageously battled brain cancer. The family will be having a private burial at a later date. Condolences can be sent on the website dignitymemorial.com.
